FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) - This label applies to both timber and paper products. The FSC is an independent organization whose aim is to promote responsible management of forests throughout the world.
An FSC label indicates that the forestry operation which have been used has been monitored and will not allow the use of hazardous pesticides, cultivation of GM (genetically modifies) trees, and respect the rights of indigenous people from around the world. Timber is tracked from supply to the end product to ensure that the customer can chose a sustainably harvested wood paper product. |
